Former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde has dismissed reports that President Muhammadu Buhari's wife, Aisha participated in a bribery scandal involving a U.S. Congressman, Williams Jefferson.
According to Premium Times, Lamorde made the clarification after Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose accused Buhari’s wife of committing the crime.
“I can tell you authoritatively that the Aisha Buhari named in that case is not President Buhari's wife. It is another Aisha Buhari entirely,” Lamorde said on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.
“I was the director of operations at the EFCC at the time so I know about the case very well. I can tell you that it is not her (President Buhari's wife). That much we established,” he added
