Tunnel Leading To Bank Premises Discovered In Akure

According to New Telegraph, the tunnel which was discovered led to the premises of an old generational bank in Akure.

When the tunnel was traced, it was noticed that work was still ongoing as it is meant to lead directly into the banking hall. The tunnel which can take three persons at a time conveniently is said to have been a planned work of armed robbers. It is said to have been done in order to make access to the bank very easy.

A security source said the gang that planned the robbery would have operated at the weekend when bankers would not be off work. The bankers would have resumed on Monday to discover that all the money in the vault had been carted away. The back of the fence is an isolated area which would have made the suspects operate undisturbed for hours.
